Dick Smith PowerHouse Stores
A floor that allows customers to try before they buy
When Dick Smith Electronics wanted to roll out a new concept in computer and electronic stores they needed an innovative floor to allow them to do it. They wanted a store which provided an interactive environment where customers can try products before they buy them. This means that the products must be wired up for both power and data connections on the shop floor. We all know how frequently new models of computers and other electronic equipment are released; every new release means a re wiring of the Dick Smith Electronics displays!
Dick Smith Electronics has chosed the Crosstrack ducted access floor for all of the stores that it has established in Sydney and Melbourne. Project Director, Michael Phillips, has told Crosstrack:
"This product was selected as almost every gondola required power and data cabling and it was expected that there may be future changes to these requirements.
This has certainly proved the case and the use of this flooring has saved many thousands of dollars and significant disruption to the store, when gondolas have been moved or the power and data requirements changed.
After 12 months of trading, the use of this flooring has certainly proved to be a correct decision"
